Seder - Pesach is celebrated in a unique way. On the eve of Pesach, it is customary for the entire extended family to gather around, in order to read the Haggadah. This evening is called Seder Pesach. Seder Pesach is a ceremonious tradition, which serves as hallmark of Judaism. During Seder Pesach, the Haggadah, which tells the story of the Exodus, is read, and special food is eaten. Traditional songs are sang throughout the Haggadah, all commemorating the miracle that god did to Jews. The Haggadah is written in archaic language. It is not merely a story, but rather an eclectic poetry, intertwined together to tell the details of the Exodus.
Seder Plate – in the middle of the table, Jews place the Seder Plate. This plate has several food items laid upon it, each symbolizes a different thing. The Seder Plate is the most important part of the Seder table.
Afikoman – perhaps the most interesting part of the evening for children, is the search for the afikoman. The Afikoman is a slice of Matza, which is hidden by one of the grownups. When the sign is given, all the children in the house, are allowed to look for this Matza. The child who finds the Matza, is entitled to ask for a gift. Children enjoy this portion of the evening profusely - The hunt after the Matza itself is pleasuring, and the promise to garner the price, drives impetus into the children.

Passover:
Passover is one of the most important holidays in the Jewish calendar. Passover is celebrated each year on the 15th of Nisan, the 7th month in the Jewish year. The meaning of the name Passover is derived from Hebrew (Pesach, or Pesah).
What is the meaning of Passover?
When Israelites were enslaved to king Pharaoh in Egypt, god struck Egypt 10 times. The final blow was Makat Behorot (in which all the firstborn male children of Egyptians were smitten by god's wrath). Moses, who was god's emissary, ordered the Jews to mark their doorposts with lamb's blood, in order for god's angels to know that the dwellers of such houses are Jews, and to 'Pass Over' those houses. Because god's wrath 'passed over' (speared) Jews firstborns, the holiday was called Passover.
What do Jews do on Passover?
Matzo - Pesach is celebrated in order to commemorate the Exodus from Egypt. When they fled from Pharaoh, the Israelites didn't have time to bake bread. Instead, they made some kind of pastry made of wheat flour which didn't have time rise. This special bread is called Matzo, and it is for this reason that the Jews aren't allowed to eat anything made of wheat flour, which was given time to rise. The Matzo (also written Matzah and Matza) is delicious, especially when eaten with chocolate. Many traditional Pesach foods are made from Matzo, or from Matzo flour (Matzo which was grinded into flour). Among those are Matzo balls which are added to chicken soup and Matzo cakes (cakes made of layers of Matzah, and lots of chocolate in between them).
Spring Cleanings – the Mitzvah (order) to eat Matzah is accompanied by the order to clean the house from vestiges of bread and wheat products (Hahsharat HaBayit – making the house Kosher). The dishes are cleaned in a special ceremonial way, and all the cupboards are emptied and examined for relics of wheat. After the house is fastidiously scoured, and deemed Kosher, the Matzah becomes the only wheat product allowed, throughout the entire holiday.
